Trust and security
What happens to your links, your visitors’ data, and your business if we don’t.
Our no-lock-in pledge
- At least 90 days’ notice before MicroURL ever shuts down, by email to every account owner.
- Your data, any time. Export your links and their click data to CSV whenever you like, on every plan.
- Your domain stays yours. Links on your own domain can be pointed somewhere else by changing one DNS record, so what you printed or shared keeps working without us.
Where your links run
Redirects run on Cloudflare’s global network and are plain 302 redirects straight to your destination. We never put ads or pages of our own in front of your visitors. The one exception is opt-in: if you turn on “open in native browser on Android” for a link, Android visitors coming from Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn see a brief hand-off page.
We never switch a link off because you went over a plan limit. Uptime is public on our status page, and everything we ship is on the changelog.
Keeping bad links off the network
Every destination is checked against Google’s Web Risk list of known malware and phishing sites before a link goes live, and an hourly job re-checks live links, oldest checks first. A link that turns bad is switched off. This protects your visitors, and it protects the reputation of the short domain your links share with everyone else’s.
Your visitors’ privacy
We never store a visitor’s IP address. Clicks are counted with a one-way hash and coarse details (country, device type, browser, referring site). The services we rely on are Cloudflare (hosting and data), Clerk (sign-in), Resend (invite emails) and Google Web Risk (link screening). Details are in our privacy policy.
Report a bad link
Found a MicroURL link pointing somewhere harmful? Email us with the link. We review every report within three business days and switch off links that break our terms.
What we don’t have yet
MicroURL is new and run by a very small team. We don’t have a SOC 2 report or single sign-on (SSO) yet. If your company needs either, email us and tell us. It shapes what we build next.
